My Calling and Passion
I wish I would have found senior living 20 years ago. Why? Working for MRC has become my calling and one true passion as I strive to serve seniors. I started as a part-time concierge at Crestview, and then moved to The Langford to begin a role as a Lead Concierge. As opportunities conspired, I became a marketing assistant and have recently transitioned into a sales counselor.
Serving Seniors-Rewarding Career
Something that started as a part-time job for me 3 years ago, has turned into a vocation and purpose: serving seniors. I love my new journey because it doesn’t feel like I am working. “If you love what you do, it will never feel like you have worked a day in your life.” I have found this statement to be true. I get to make a difference each and every day, and overall, the impact that I have on helping families, as well as their loved ones, is the most rewarding opportunity I could have ever asked for.
An Organization that Appreciates
One thing I have noticed that is different while employed by MRC, is their recognition and appreciation for their employees, even the smallest things are appreciated. MRC being a faith-based company makes us Christians openly speak, pray and minister to fellow residents and coworkers. We always start our leadership meeting with a prayer. How awesome is that? Our mission is Matthew 7:12 “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
I am here because I love my new calling. As much as I have poured out to my residents, they have poured out onto me, allowing me to gain great wisdom, amazing stories and lifetime friendships. I love, love, love my purpose that has been uncovered in the world of seniors.
