My Calling as the Chaplain at a Retirement Community

I love being able to serve our Lord as the chaplain at MRC The Langford. I consider it my life’s calling, and I am honored and humbled to join Him in this special work.

BLESSED DAILY WORK

What do I do as their Chaplain? What do I love?

Well…those are easy questions to answer! I am blessed to get to spend time with a lot of fascinating, loving and kind people. I like to say it this way…I am spending time with God as I spend time with our residents! I get to share beautiful experiences of God with them...studying the bible together…singing Hymns together…worshiping…listening to their needs and praying!

MOST IMPORTANT

Praying for them is very meaningful time with God...and the most important thing I do in their care.

I LOVEOUR RESIDENTS

All of this feels so good inside, because with all of my heart, I love our residents! I care about what they care about and I feel God’s love deep inside of my heart…loving them, feeling compassion for them through the struggles they endure, and encouraging them every day. I live out scripture as I “rejoice with those who are rejoicing and grieve with those who are grieving.”

A SHAREDLOVE

I feel their love too…they touch my heart in indescribable ways and I know it is because of God. The Love of God flows here…the power of the Holy Spirit is felt here. I thank God for His presence at the Langford...it is a wonderful place to share life with others in service to our Lord!
