In September of 2015, Kathy Deleon, Sales Director, was nervously preparing for the first ever meeting to introduce The Langford to the College Station area. The marketing team had sent out postcards, inviting area seniors to come learn about what was only a possibility at the time. Armed with only artist renderings and the reputation of MRC, the team set up for the luncheon and began to welcome curious guests.  

A pair of familiar faces entered the room, John and Sandra Matush. Kathy had known the couple from previously working at Arbor Oaks at Crestview where they had considering moving years prior. Familiar with the process, John pulled Kathy aside before the presentation began and asked, “Are you going to take Priority Member deposits? If so, we’ve got our checkbook ready and we want to be first in line.” Joining the Matushes that day was their daughter, Nan, who became the second to join the Priority Member Program.

DeLeon explained, “Before The Langford was built, we first had to demonstrate that there was significant interest, which is what the Priority Member Program was all about. Depositors put down a refundable $100 in exchange for a number. That number indicated their priority to get access to floorplans and final information once it was available. Most importantly, they had the first chance to reserve their spot if they liked what they heard.”  

The Matushes went on to be the first to make an official reservation and were one of the fist to move-in four years ago this year.
